How To Make Homemade Bitterballen

I like the taste of Bitterballen, as a cheese and milk lover, Bitterballen is able to combine those two ingredients. Without further ado, let's make Bitterballen homemade. 

Here are the ingredients:
1. Minced Meat (0.25 kg)

2. Onion (use only 1)

3. Garlic (the amount is as much as the picture)

4. Mozzarella Cheese

5. Pepper Powder

6. Nutmeg Powder

7. Leeks

8. Milk

9. Butter

10. Wheat flour

11. Sugar

12. Salt

13. Chicken Broth/ Flavorings that has chicken flavor

14. Egg

15. Breadcrumbs


The Procedure:
1. Cut into pieces the onion, garlic, and leeks.



2. Heat the butter in the frying pan.

3. Put the pieces of garlic.

4. Around 3-4 minutes, add the pieces of leeks and onion. 

5. After the spices have been cooked well, add the minced meat.

6. Stir it well while adding the pepper powder, nutmeg powder, sugar, salt, and chicken broth as your taste. If you don't have the chicken broth, you can make it using the flavorings that have the chicken flavor by adding the water into the flavorings powder. 


7. On the different frying pan, heat again the butter.

8. Add the wheat flour, stir it well.

9. Keep stirring it, until it is mixed perfectly. 

10. Now, you can add the milk.

11. In this stage, according to your taste, you can add another sugar or salt. 

12. Put the mixture of the meat and mix well. 

13. Then, the mixture has to be cooling down, you can put it in the refrigerator for some hours. 

14. While waiting, you can prepare the mozzarella cheese by cutting it into pieces.

15. If it has already been cold, you can put the mixture out from the refrigerator.

16. Take a part of the mixture like the picture below, then put the pieces of mozzarella cheese in its center. Create a round form.




17. Prepare the wheat flour, egg, and breadcrumbs.

18. Put it firstly on the wheat flour and cover the whole part with it. 

19. Create it in a round shape perfectly by spinning it with your hand and the result will be like the picture below.

20. Then, put it on the egg and cover the whole part with it.

21. Last but not least, put it on the breadcrumbs and cover the whole part with it.

22. You can store it in the refrigerator if you don't want to eat it immediately. 


23. If you want to eat it, just fry it with a low level of the fire and quite a lot of coconut oil. The purpose of the frying is to cook the mozzarella cheese inside so it can be melted well.
